Open Access Repositories Dienste
- Open Access business models of commercial publishers are manifold.
Some concepts are:
- Emerald Asset (Accessible Scholarship Shared in
an Electronic Environment): instead that authors pay a fee for their
submitted paper to be considered in an OA-Journal of Emerald Publisher,
the author is obligede to give information summary on his/her research work
for the Emerald Server.
- Keep Toll access journal but allow option for individual author to
pay once for each of his/her documents to put them Open Access.
Prices are high (in the 2.000,- Euro region), as deduced from the price of a
toll access journal. Some of the publishers are ES, Wiley, Springer, Karger.

- Exclusively digital OA journals with to-be-paid
add-on services such as printing on demand.
They make use of the potential of cost reduction by purely digital OA service
(no costly marketing, large readership and thus customers for the add-on services,
no expensive distribution). Best examples are ACP, or NJP.)
Prices go from 20,-Euro per page to the range of 500,- per paper.
